In the summer of 2020, Keith Johnson, a 44-year-old Black man from Washington, D.C., vanished under what police would come to describe as suspicious circumstances. He was last seen on July 15, 2020, in the 1800 block of Tobias Drive, SE. Concern for his welfare grew when his vehicle was discovered abandoned in the 3700 block of D Street, SE, containing a significant amount of blood inside.
