In the late hours of a Thursday evening in Washington, D.C., the life of 51-year-old Freddie Lee Crawford, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On December 28, 2023, at approximately 11:43 p.m., officers from the Fifth District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of 17th Street, Northeast. Upon their arrival, they discovered Crawford inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
