In the evening hours of Saturday, May 17, 2025, the sound of gunfire disrupted the quiet of a residential neighborhood in Southwest Washington, D.C. Officers from the Seventh District of the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of Irvington Street, Southwest, at approximately 8:23 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man, 32-year-old Christopher Rashad Riles, of Southwest, D.C., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
