Do you know who murdered Davon Holt? In the early morning hours of a summer Sunday in Washington, D.C., the life of Davon Holt, a male, was cut short by gunfire. On July 2, 2006, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Holt and another individual were shot in the 200 block of L Street, SW. The violent encounter left Davon Holt dead at the scene.
Alongside Holt that morning was 16-year-old Michael Lucas, who was also struck by the gunfire.
While Holt's death was immediate, Lucas clung to life for several days before succumbing to his injuries on July 8, 2006, turning a single homicide into a double murder investigation for the Metropolitan Police Department. The case of Davon Holt and Michael Lucas remains an open and unsolved homicide.
The Metropolitan Police Department's Violent Crimes Branch is actively investigating the double homicide. In an effort to bring the person or persons responsible to justice, the department is offering a substantial reward of up to $50,000 for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction in connection with the shooting. Despite the passage of time, law enforcement continues to seek assistance from the public, hoping that someone with knowledge of the tragic events of that July morning will come forward. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in the deaths of Davon Holt and Michael Lucas.
