In the winter of 1984, the community of Georgetown in Washington, D.C. was shaken by the untimely death of a beloved figure. Rabbi Phillip Rabinowitz, a 63-year-old male, was found deceased in his home on 25th Street NW on the morning of Wednesday, February 29th. The spiritual leader of the Kesher Israel Congregation, an orthodox synagogue, had been a fixture in the neighborhood for 34 years.
