Everett Stevenson King, 52, a Black male, was shot late in the morning of July 6, 2020, in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE in Washington, D.C. Seventh District officers responded around 11:25 a.m. to reports of gunfire and found an adult man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken by D.C. Fire and EMS to a local hospital, where lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead. Authorities later identified him as Everett King of Southeast, D.C.
