On February 18, 2021, at approximately 3:13 p.m., members of the Second District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Thomas Jefferson Street, Northwest, Washington, DC. Upon arrival, officers found 30-year-old Youness Zarouaki suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Zarouaki was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
