On December 21, 2010, James Pone, a 30-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was shot and killed in the 700 block of Brandywine Street SE at around 9:00 pm. Responding officers found him suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival.
