Mack Wesley Cantrell, a 46-year-old male security guard, found himself in the midst of a terrifying ordeal on March 9, 1977, when a group of Hanafi Muslims initiated a violent siege on three buildings in Washington, D.C. Cantrell was on duty at the District Building, one of the locations targeted in the coordinated attack.
