On December 14, 2021, Jacques Russ, a 44-year-old resident of Northeast Washington, DC, was found unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound in the unit block of 61st Street, Northeast. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene around 6:50 a.m., where emergency personnel determined that Russ showed no signs of life. He was subsequently transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner for further examination.
