On a Tuesday afternoon, June 29, 2021, 21-year-old Ranel 'Rae' Marshall was sitting in her car in the 4000 block of Alabama Avenue, SE in Washington, D.C. She was waiting to pick up a friend to go to the movies. At approximately 4:41 pm, another vehicle pulled up alongside hers, and shots were fired.

Ranel, who was a resident of Falls Church, Virginia, was struck in the neck and shoulder. She was rushed to a local hospital where she fought for her life for several days. Tragically, on Jul ...
