In the early hours of a summer morning in Washington, D.C., the sound of gunshots shattered the quiet of the 5000 block of Bass Place, Southeast. When police arrived at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, they discovered a grim scene. Inside a vehicle, a man and a woman were found unconscious, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
