In the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 9, 2020, a 21-year-old woman named Kamonie Edwards was fatally shot in the Anacostia neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 1:29 a.m. in the 1600 block of W Street, SE. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting and found Ms. Edwards unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C.
