On a fall evening in Washington, D.C., a burst of gunfire shattered the night, leaving a young woman's life cut tragically short. Shawntese Murphy, a 30-year-old female from Suitland, Maryland, was fatally shot on Friday, October 20, 2017. The incident occurred at approximately 10:53 p.m. in the 1600 block of U Street, in the Southeast section of the city.
