In the winter of 2018, a tragic event unfolded in a residence in Southeast Washington, D.C., forever altering the lives of one family. On the evening of January 26th, police responded to a call about an unconscious person in the 2400 block of Elvans Road, SE. Upon arrival, they discovered 49-year-old Bernadette Earnice King inside a home, suffering from a gunshot wound.
