On March 13, 2025, the body of Corey Webster, a 48-year-old man from Greenville, Mississippi, was discovered near Shamoon Lane in a wooded area close to a railroad track. Authorities later determined that Webster had been shot earlier in the 900 block of Nelson Street before his body was found. The investigation quickly led police to suspect Tristan Mason, a 43-year-old man also from Greenville, as the perpetrator of the crime.
