In the summer of 2021, the life of 29-year-old Arusher Sturdevant, a Black male from Greenville, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. On the afternoon of July 29th, officers from the Greenville Police Department were called to a residence on JoAnn Circle following a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they found Sturdevant suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite any medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries, and his death was subsequently ruled a homicide.
