On a summer evening in Washington, D.C., tragedy struck in the 2500 block of Elvans Road, Southeast. On July 21, 2021, at approximately 9:42 PM, the sound of gunshots pierced the night, forever altering the lives of those connected to Kevin Sanders. A 25-year-old Black male from Fort Washington, Maryland, Sanders was found by responding Metropolitan Police Department officers suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
