On a summer evening in North Las Vegas, a disturbance at a residence on Belmont Street shattered the quiet of the neighborhood. It was July 8, 2016, when police were called to the 1800 block of the street near East Tonopah Avenue around 7 p.m. Inside a home, they discovered 32-year-old Antonio Hernandez, a Hispanic male, suffering from a critical gunshot wound.
