In the early hours of a Friday morning in Las Vegas, the life of Arkedra Shamona Taylor, a 43-year-old Black woman, was tragically cut short. On May 24, 2019, at approximately 1:10 a.m., the sound of gunshots echoed through the Cornerstone Crossing Apartments on West Washington Avenue. Responding to multiple reports, police and security officers discovered Taylor in the parking lot, suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
