Ashley Burrell was shot on the evening of December 1, 2023, when a gunman opened fire on a homeless encampment near Sandhill Road and Charleston Boulevard in northeast Las Vegas. Police said the shooter was dropped off by a black SUV near a freeway overpass, walked into the camp, and began firing before fleeing to a waiting vehicle.
