On August 10, 2023, 31-year-old Madeline Cervantes was found deceased in the garage of her residence at the Arista Apartment Homes complex near East Starr Avenue and Bermuda Road in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Clark County coroner's office later identified her cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head, ruling it a homicide.
Authorities believe the incident was a murder-suicide perpetrated by her husband, whose identity has not been disclosed.
Witnesses reported hearing an argument between the couple followed by two gunshots. Upon arrival, police discovered both individuals unresponsive in the garage. Inside the apartment, their three children—one very young and two young teenagers—were found unharmed.
This tragic event left the three children without their parents. The investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department concluded that the husband fatally shot Madeline before taking his own life.
