In the city of Fairfield, Alabama, a sense of loss befell a local family when Ronald Ross, a 35-year-old man, was killed on Thursday, March 2, 2017. The incident, a result of gun violence, cut his life short and left his family to mourn what they described as a 'cowardly, senseless' act. In the days that followed, those who knew him gathered to remember his life, with a viewing held the following Wednesday and a graveside service at Oakland Cemetery in Birmingham that Thursday.
