In the early evening of October 14, 2016, a sense of community was shattered in Fairfield, Alabama, by an act of violence that claimed the life of 34-year-old Jimmy Frizzle, a Black/African American male. The incident unfolded in the 6700 block of Myron Massey Boulevard, a location not far from the campus of Miles College. Just an hour and a half before a planned prayer vigil intended to address the very issue of local violence, the sound of two gunshots echoed through a nearby park.
