On the evening of November 14, 1995, a promising young Black / African American man named Brian Todd Mitchell, aged 24, returned to his home in the 4300 block of NE Hazelfern Place in Portland, Oregon. At approximately 8:45 pm, after parking his black 1986 Ford Thunderbird across the street from his residence, the night was shattered by the sound of numerous gunshots.
