In the late winter of 2015, a young Hispanic man's life was tragically cut short in Portland, Oregon. Esteban Steve Del Cid, a 20-year-old male, was in the Eliot neighborhood on the night of February 28th when he encountered a group of teenagers. In an act described as a senseless whim, one of the teens shot Del Cid, inflicting life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his wounds.
