On a warm evening on June 20, 2022, a family celebration at Raymond City Park in Portland, Oregon, turned into a scene of tragedy. Geavauntae Sherman, a 22-year-old male, was at the park for his younger sister's birthday party. The joyous occasion took a dark turn when an argument erupted between his family and another group at the park, reportedly over the use of a swing set. Geavauntae stepped in to de-escalate the situation, attempting to bring a sense of calm to the rising tensions.
