In what began as a typical afternoon errand, a trip to the grocery store on January 13, 2025, ended in tragedy for 47-year-old Jonathan Trent of Portland, Oregon. Trent, a White male, was fatally shot outside a Fred Meyer store in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Northeast Portland after he reportedly attempted to intervene in a robbery.
