In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 17, 2022, a series of violent events shattered the peace in southeast Portland, Oregon, culminating in the tragic death of 34-year-old Dante Euel Hall. The final and fatal incident unfolded around 2:52 a.m. in the 2600 block of Southeast Belmont Street. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Hall, a Black / African American male, already deceased from gunshot wounds.
