On a summer morning in Hartford, Connecticut, the life of a 21-year-old Black / African American male named Brian Oliver was cut tragically short. On July 19, 2021, police responded to a report of a shooting on Irving Street around 7:45 a.m. and found Oliver outside a residence, unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the city's 21st homicide of the year.
