In the cold of a January snowstorm, the life of 34-year-old Navian Ebanks, a Black male, was cut short in Hartford, Connecticut. On the evening of January 4, 2018, just before 7 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the winter quiet on Bushnell Street. Responding to the reports, police officers arrived to find Ebanks lying in the snow outside his home at 64 Bushnell Street. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and neck.
