In the early morning hours of November 23, 2022, tragedy struck in a second-floor apartment on Barker Street in Hartford, Connecticut, claiming the lives of two brothers. Jonas Deaza-Escobar, a 19-year-old Black / African American male, and his older brother, 20-year-old Cesar Deaza-Escobar, were fatally shot in what police have described as a targeted attack.
