In the early hours of August 4, 2020, the vibrant energy within a makeshift nightclub in Hartford, Connecticut, turned to terror. Kennedy Burgess, a 28-year-old Black male, was among approximately 50 people gathered inside a warehouse at 818 Windsor Street in the city's north end. At around 1:28 a.m., the unsanctioned event was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Chaos erupted as bullets flew, striking multiple people in the crowded space.
