On May 16, 2015, at approximately 3 a.m., Hartford police responded to a report of a shooting near the Mary Shepard Place housing complex. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Michael T. Clahar, known by the nickname "Slope," in the parking lot at 602 Mary Shepard Place, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. Tragically, Clahar was pronounced dead at the scene.
