On October 21, 2022, at approximately 3:40 a.m., Hartford police responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Wethersfield Avenue and Elliott Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Raymond Lewis, a 54-year-old resident of Hartford, unresponsive at the scene. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. This incident marked the city's 32nd homicide of the year.
