In the light of a spring afternoon in Hartford, Connecticut, the life of Carl Coolie D. Patterson, a 28-year-old Black man, was brought to an abrupt and violent end on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Known to many as “Coolie,” he was a native of Hartford, a father, and a well-known figure in his community.
