On September 2, 2018, Joshua Steele, aged 28, was fatally shot during a house party on Hillside Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., when the city's ShotSpotter system detected multiple gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, police found Steele and another victim, Kevin Campbell, 34, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to Hartford Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
