In a moment of sudden violence on a Sunday morning in Hartford, Connecticut, the life of 17-year-old Shevron Wilson, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On April 13, 2025, just a short distance from his own home on Barker Street, Wilson was fatally shot in what police have described as a targeted attack. The incident, which marked the city's fifth homicide of the year, unfolded in broad daylight at approximately 11:20 a.m., sending shockwaves through the local community.
Responding officers discovered the unresponsive teenager and administered aid until paramedics arrived. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was ultimately pronounced dead.
The investigation into Wilson's death moved swiftly, with Hartford police utilizing city surveillance cameras to identify a suspect vehicle fleeing the scene. The car, which had been reported stolen in an armed carjacking earlier that same day, was located in the northern part of the city. A tense foot chase ensued after two individuals fled from the vehicle, but both were quickly apprehended by law enforcement. Inside the stolen car, police recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the fatal shooting of Shevron Wilson.
