In the early hours of Sunday, January 8, 2017, the life of 35-year-old Hispanic male Heriberto Rodriguez was tragically cut short in Hartford, Connecticut. The city's first homicide of the new year unfolded on Whitmore Street, where police responded to a report of a man lying in the street just after 2 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Rodriguez, who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Hartford Hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after.
