In the early hours of April 5, 2017, the ShotSpotter system in Hartford's South End detected the sound of six gunshots, but no calls were made to 911. Responding to the alert at around 12:30 a.m., police discovered 24-year-old Jimmy Gonzalez, a Hispanic male, in the driveway of 38 King Street. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
