On November 22, 2024, at approximately 11:42 p.m., 39-year-old Joshua Ortega was fatally shot in a drive-by incident on Seymour Street in Hartford, Connecticut. Responding to a ShotSpotter alert, Hartford Police officers arrived at the 100 block of Seymour Street to find Ortega unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
