On June 11, 2003, 27-year-old Benjamin "Benji" Baez Jr. was fatally shot while seated in a parked car at 1313 Main Street in Hartford, Connecticut. The incident occurred shortly before midnight; Baez was in the vehicle with a friend when an assailant approached and fired multiple shots, striking him in the chest.
