On the night of September 22, 2023, a burst of gunfire shattered the late-evening quiet on Westland Street in Hartford, Connecticut. Just before 11 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 34 Westland St. after a ShotSpotter alert indicated that shots had been fired. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a grim scenario. Inside a vehicle, they found an unresponsive man who had sustained gunshot wounds.
