In the early morning hours of August 11, 2023, the Parkville neighborhood of Hartford, Connecticut, was shattered by a hail of gunfire that claimed the life of 34-year-old Jose Valdes. The Hispanic male was with another man, Jonathan Roseboro, a 39-year-old from West Hartford, when the fatal encounter occurred. The shooting, which marked the 26th and 27th homicides in the city that year, unfolded just after 1:15 a.m. near the intersection of Park and Hazel streets.
