On June 9, 2021, 22-year-old Trelique Jarule Ward of East Hartford, Connecticut, was fatally shot during an incident on Kent Street in Hartford. The Hartford Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation around 5:30 p.m. and discovered a crime scene indicative of a recent shooting. Shortly thereafter, two individuals arrived at a local hospital seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.
