On a Monday evening in Lugoff, South Carolina, the Lexington Grand Apartments on Roy Truesdale Road became the scene of a tragic event. On December 2, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office received a call about multiple gunshot victims. Upon their arrival, along with agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and troopers from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, they discovered the bodies of two men who had been fatally shot.
The victims were identified as 40-year-old Kevin Sutton of Camden and his 22-year-old nephew, Tasheed Sutton of Cassatt.
Investigators quickly determined that the shooting was not a random act of violence, believing that all individuals involved were acquainted. A search of the area, which included K9 units and drones, was conducted, though authorities suspected the assailants had already fled. The investigation soon pointed to two teenage suspects. An intense manhunt was launched for 18-year-old Jamiyan L. Blair and 19-year-old Bobby Bernard Elijah Stuckey III, both of whom were facing murder charges in connection with the double homicide.
The search for the two suspects concluded after several days. Bobby Stucky III, one of the accused, turned himself in to law enforcement. The second suspect, Jamiyan Blair, was apprehended in Henderson County, North Carolina. The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office expressed their gratitude to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division's fugitive team and the Henderson County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in the arrests. The sheriff also credited the community, stating that crucial information provided by citizens was instrumental in identifying both suspects.
