In the summer of 2022, a 66-year-old man named Johnny Carson Douglas, a resident of Bishopville, South Carolina, lost his life in a fatal shooting in the nearby town of Lugoff. The incident, which at first was shrouded in a claim of self-defense, would soon lead to a murder charge and a deeper investigation into the events of that July evening.
