On November 24, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Shaker Heights police responded to reports of multiple gunshots fired in the 17000 block of Shaker Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men deceased from gunshot wounds in the driveway of a residence. The victims were identified as 24-year-old Nisiah Sanders, known professionally as "Nahzzy," and 30-year-old Myron Rainey, known as "Press PlayMJ."
Both Sanders and Rainey were local rappers who had attended a party at the residence prior to the shooting. Family members described Sanders as joyful and playful, with a love for music, while Rainey was remembered for his infectious smile and warm personality.
Investigations revealed that the residence where the shooting occurred had a history of issues. The property was in the process of eviction due to unpaid rent and numerous police calls related to illegal activities, including drug use and violent confrontations. Despite these concerns, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and authorities have stated that there is no evidence suggesting a third party was involved.
As of now, the investigation remains ongoing, with law enforcement agencies urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in resolving this tragic incident.
