On November 11, 2020, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Cleveland police responded to reports of gunfire near East 102nd Street and Parkview Avenue in the city's Woodland Hills neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 32-year-old Jovan Wells, an African American male, lying unresponsive in the 10100 block of Parkview Avenue. A firearm was located nearby. Despite immediate medical attention, Mr. Wells was pronounced dead at the scene.
