Rasheed Cunningham Jr., an 8-year-old African American boy, was tragically shot and killed on December 28, 2016, in Dania Beach, Florida, a neighborhood near Fort Lauderdale. Rasheed was walking home from his cousin's birthday party with a group of family members when a car pulled up and someone inside opened fire. The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. in the 200 block of Northwest Ninth Avenue. Rasheed was struck by the gunfire and was later pronounced dead at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital ...
